Feeding your cat a raw food diet is one of the best things that you can do for their health and vitality. Cats fed a balanced diet of raw food live longer, more active lives and do not suffer from the degenerative diseases affecting many cats today as a result of cooked-food diets. Also, cooked commercial cat food is often made of reject animal parts from livestock that are fed steroids and/or that died of disease, contaminating it with chemicals and deadly bacteria that can harm or even kill your cat. A raw food diet, however, can be a huge commitment on the part of the pet owner, especially if the animal has been raised on commercial cat food. The transition to a raw food diet can be difficult, and preparing certain homemade raw cat food recipes can be time consuming and labor intensive in comparison to what is typically done. Raw organic cat food is commercially available, but it is usually very pricey, so most raw food enthusiasts opt to make their own raw cat food.
